A young thoroughbred I met a few months ago was perfectly comfortable backing out of a trailer, down a ramp, but would not leave his stall. His owner needed him to come and go like a normal horse! so the feeding routines could function. This amazing lady entrepreneur who is also my riding coach runs the entire operation herself and is a single mom. She raises baby goats, horses, minis, chickens, a couple geese, 4H pigs...there are a lot of hungry mouths to feed before the kids catch the bus and lessons get started. Thus, really no time in the morning routine for fussing about leaving a stall.
